Further investigations would include:
  1. Repeat review of blood film for large agranular platelets
  2. Electron microscopy (to demonstrate absent alpha granules)
  3. Assessment of platelet alpha granule consituents (e.g. PF4 assay)
  4. Bone marrow aspirate and trephine to delineate degree of fibrosis
