Type II von Willebrands disease - probably either A or M (normal platelet count makes B less likely)


Further investigations:
  • RIPA (reduced aggregation in type II M)
  • vWF multimers (high and intermediate multimers absent with abnormal triplicate repeat pattern in type II A)
He needs to have an inguinal hernia repair.
